CROPREDY PAINTING GROUP |
Meets at the Village Hall on Monday afternoons for three terms from October to May during the year. These two-hour sessions include a painting Tutor to advise on painting techniques, with occasional workshops and demonstrations. The sessions are able to cope with a wide range of painting abilities, from beginners to experienced painters, using watercolour, pastels, acrylics, oil, pen and charcoal media. Some members of the group go outdoor painting at local beauty spots over the summer months (May to September). Affiliated to the SAA (Society for All Artists), the group was formed in 1997, and there are sixteen members. There is an annual exhibition of their work in the Village Hall, and visitors are welcome to look at the variety of paintings, many of which are for sale. Cropredy Church of England (controlled) Primary School is situated at the end of Station Road. The School has expanded over the years and now includes a computer suite, five attractive classrooms, a purpose built Foundation Stage Unit (in partnership with Cropredy Playgroup) and extensive and attractive grounds, including an outdoor swimming pool. As well as Cropredy, the School also serves the outlying villages of Wardington, Great Bourton, Little Bourton, Mollington and Claydon. This is a NEW link to the original Mewslade website. Seasoned visitors and residents will be well aware of all the tremendous work Pam Keegan has undertaken over many years to record and archive 'everything Cropredy'. Pam and her husband, Mark, now feel they can no longer carry on with the administration of their website and have donated it to us and requested it be incorporated in to the Cropredy Village website for posterity. ADOPTION OF MODEL PUBLICATION SCHEME 2008: all Parish Councils had to adopt a Publication Scheme in 2002 and we are now required to up-date this and put the information on the web-site. The PC is required to adopt the Model Publication Scheme 2008 as produced by the Information Commissioner's Office with effect from 1 January 2009 and the Clerk has prepared a draft of this document adapted for Cropredy.
